Public Forum Policy

All meetings of the Marengo Public Library Board of Trustees are open to anyone who may want to observe the proceedings, with the exception of closed meetings. The public may watch the board work, but they are not to participate in the board meeting. Non-board members who want to address the board will be given the opportunity in the Public Forum, for which time will always be designated within the agenda.

Non-board members who want to address the board should request a place on the agenda no later than 24 hours before the time established for the meeting. Those who speak will be limited to five minutes. The board will listen at the meeting to those who speak during the Public Forum. If there is a need for response from the board, it will come after the board has had time to deliberate the issue, to seek more information, or to take recommendations from the director.
